(More customer reviews)The original battery door for the VX8700 is steel, this extended battery door is plastic, so it does not look quite as "shiny" as original but the color is a very good match for the phone so it doesn't make any real difference.
Also, since the phone is over 2 years old there are not many options for getting accessories to fit it any more, but the VX8700 is an excellent phone and none of the new ones now available have really excited me.
